Over the past few years, designers Mélie et Marianne Vézina-Méthé have brought together their mutual talents and experiences to form C'est pas moi, c'est ma soeur. From macro to micro, these twin sisters mix the refinement of jewellery with the efficacy of industrial design. They use artisanal techniques and technologies to create sophisticated jewels and distinguished small objects.

C'est pas moi, c'est ma soeur offers mid- to high-end collections for both men and women as well as a custom design service. They work with noble materials in the fabrication of their jewellery, using sterling silver, 18-karat gold, pearls, and mother of pearl. They also offer a service for the concept and production of small objects and furniture for individuals and companies.

The company presented its first collection in December 2007 at the annual young designer event souk@sat at the Société des Arts Technologiques. Since then, their collection has been distributed at Noël Guyomarc'h bijoux d'art, a gallery store on Laurier St. that specialises in contemporary jewellery, and at Freitag, a jewellery store on St. Laurent Blvd.

Mélie Vézina-Méthé has designed and manufactured jewellery over the past 10 years. She obtained her technical diploma in jewellery design in 1998 from l'École de Joaillerie de Montreal, where she twice received prizes for excellence. She graduated from the department of industrial design at the University of Montreal in 2005.

Marianne Vézina-Méthé worked in the props department for various cinematic productions in Montreal before entering into a career as a designer. She is pursuing her studies in environmental design at UQAM. The program includes different scales of design, from small objects to architecture. She has been working in an architectural design studio and freelance since 2004.

It is the complicity between the sisters that enables them to turn their small objects into works of art and their jewellery into objects of desire.
